First Impressions
Following their previous design style, the package we received was very compact. Here are the package contents:
- 1 x Charging Case
- 1 x Pair of Earbuds
- 1 x USB-A to USB-C Cable
- 1 x User Manual
- 1 x Quick Guide
Unlike the other earbuds from TOZO, which were unique in their design, these are very similar to the Apple AirPods, which are the industry standard in this price segment. The look and feel of this product felt premium and not like a cheap knockoff.
Speaking from personal preference, we find the black color of these earbuds to be more appealing. However, TOZO offers a variety of options to suit different styles, including black, blue, red, and green. If you’re looking for something bold, red could be a great choice. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with the classic black.
The charging case is of a similar size as the AirPods Pro, and that’s a good thing. However, we noticed that the USB-C charging port was on the back of the case, and we are not a big fan of it. It should be at the bottom of the case. On the front of the case, you can see the charging percentage of the case and individual battery bars for both the earbuds (. if present in the case)
Before proceeding, we connected the earbuds to the TOZO app. Since an OTA update was pending, we completed the update before reviewing the unit. We will discuss the app later in this review.
Comfort
This is a simple yet complicated decision when choosing earbuds. If you are comfortable using any earbuds without any fitting issues, then you will find this very comfortable.
To put this simply, if you are comfortable with AirPods or these kinds of earbuds, you will have no issues. We have used these earbuds continuously for 3-4 hours without any ear pain or other issues. If you are resting your head on a pillow sideways while sleeping, then you might feel some discomfort.
Sound Quality
Considering this device’s low-budget price point, we were expecting a little but were surprised by the quality of sound it produced.
You only need to turn the volume to 100% if you are in a boisterous area. You can listen to the music comfortably at 65-70% volume. It has a very flat output, and that is a good thing at this price point. The separation between the left and right channels was also excellent.
The default EQ is a bit lacking at the low ends. You can tune the EQ settings using the TOZO app to improve the lows. You will not get a rumbling effect like we do on over-the-ear headphones. Don’t expect AirPods Pro-level bass from this device.
While most inexpensive devices struggle in the mids, these worked quite well during our testing. They were not very punchy, and we noticed a little bit of fogginess, but the vocals were very clear and smooth.
The highs were also acceptable; you can improve them by tweaking the EQ using the TOZO app.
However, if you are not an audiophile, we recommend sticking to the standard settings, as they will be good for almost any situation, whether you are on a call, watching a movie, listening to bass-heavy songs, or vice versa.
Battery Life & Case
In our testing, Tonal Fits T21 lasted about 4.5 hours after being fully charged. The case provided can charge them 3-4 times. In our case, considering our light use, we can go up to a week without charging them.
The Battery Case provided with the earbuds shows the real-time battery percentage of the case, as well as a separate battery bar for both earbuds. The inclusion of Wireless charging at this price point makes it even easier for people who only rely on wireless charging in their day-to-day lives.
App Features
A dedicated app for TOZO devices is available for iOS and Android. This app lets you customize the EQ on your earbuds, install the latest OTA updates, and change the touch controls.
There are four controls on each earbud: click, double-click, triple-click, and long press. You have the following options to choose from: Play/Pause, Previous Song, Next Song, and Activate Siri.
Conclusion
If you are looking for budget-friendly earbuds that you can use daily and are also IPX8 waterproof, then TOZO Tonal Fits T21 might be the best option.
These may not be the best earbuds on the market, but you cannot nitpick at this price. It gets all the basics right and provides features like IPX8 and wireless charging. You can buy TOZO Tonal Fits From Here.
