If you want to use this feature on your Android or iPhone device. You must have the new Cross Messaging platform update on your Instagram app. Although this update came in 2020, you might already have updated it.
However, if you’re still using the old version, update the Instagram app on your smartphone. Open the Instagram app and tap on the profile icon from the bottom right corner.
- From the profile page, tap on the three lines menu icon. Go to settings, and you will see an option that says Update Messaging. Tap on it, and you will have the new messaging features on your Instagram app.
- Now that you have updated the messenger, you can respond directly to any message on Instagram chats.
- For that, open the Instagram app and tap on the messenger icon from the top right corner of the home screen.
- Select any private or group chat.
